This is a self-led experience through underground tunnels. Even though the Tunnels may be shielded from the Cornish Weather, we recommend sturdy footwear and waterproofs, as there are some parts of the experience that are outdoors and the tunnels may be wet due to the occasional flooding. Some sections of the paths are narrow, however there are clearly signposted passing points provided to allow for safe socially distanced passing. The entrance and exit are one way, however there are moments during the experience where you will have to turn around on yourself.

The route should take on average 40 minutes, but this of course depends on the visitor.

The main toilets are located at the entrance of the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, which include baby changing, family room, and accessible facilities.

We recommend making use of them upon arrival, as there are no toilets located on the Tunnel route until exit into the Museum.

Regular hand sanitisation points are located across The Tunnel of Lights route and within our amenities.

Access information

The Tunnel of Lights route will take you along some gentle slopes and some narrow paths. Some paths may be wet due to flooding.

The paths are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, however the exit is inaccessible with stairs. Should a visitor need an alternative exit route then the Shipwreck Treasure Museum team will assist them.

The route will lead you from the Tunnels Ticket Office, through the Tunnels and up into the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, following a one way self-led route.
