We’re passionate about sharing our enthusiasm for shipwrecks, our knowledge of maritime history and our taste for adventure! We know it can be hard to plan group trips, so we want to support you how ever we can. This page will explain a little about how our Education Programme works and other handy bits of information.

The Museum is open to education groups by pre-booking only, during our off-peak times, and between 10:00 and 15:00. We currently offer a self-directed/facilitated package to support your visit, as well as working on some exciting new offerings.

Minimum number of students – 10+

Booking is first come first serve and can fill up fast, but we can hold a date penciled for you to give you time to decide, and will always do what we can to help support you and your groups visit!

You can check our availability, request our booking form, or just ask us questions via email on [email protected]

  • Shackleton’s Experience: Immerse yourself in the Endurance story and descend into our Ice Tunnels.
  • Shackleton’s legacy and the power of early Antarctic photography (RGS): Explore the influences behind Shackleton’s passion for the Antarctic.

You can find out more about the museum and our new exhibitions by checking out our What’s On page.

Educational groups are treated to heavily discounted student entrance rates, free entry for educators, and free use of pencils and clipboards primed with special activity sheets on our incredibly popular group topic, Shackleton’s Endurance.
