The Shipwreck Treasure Museum Reopens its Doors

The Shipwreck Treasure Museum in Charlestown is delighted that the museum reopens on Saturday 4th July 2020.

The museum is a treasure trove with over 8000 artefacts from over 150 shipwrecks. The museum team has been working hard on a range of new measures to ensure the continued safety and well being of visitors and staff.

In order to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained, the museum will initially be operating with reduced capacity. When visitors arrive at the museum they purchase a timed-ticket, and entry will be staggered.

Staff have introduced a series of additional cleaning and hygiene measures on site including enhanced cleaning of the high frequency touchpoints and toilet facilities.

Visitors will be asked to “go with the flow” and follow the one way system around the museum, and to look out for the markers on the floor to ensure they keep fathoms apart whilst exploring the shipwreck treasures.

The admissions desk and gift shop of course accept contactless card payments so there is no need to bring along your doubloons this time!

We kindly ask that anyone who has a temperature, or is showing any other known symptoms to please stay at home.

It will all be slightly different, but the visit will be as intriguing as ever. The whole team cannot wait to welcome you aboard again soon. Dive in!

PLEASE NOTE: In line with Government Guidelines, from Saturday 8th August all visitors to the Shipwreck Treasure Museum are required to wear a face covering whilst inside.
